New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday shared his thoughts on the expanding significance of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam, underlining its role in strengthening cultural bonds and deepening the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
The Prime Minister said the initiative has emerged as a vibrant platform celebrating India’s age-old civilisational links between Kashi and Tamil Nadu. PM noted that the Sangamam reflects the country’s cultural unity, showcasing how traditions, languages, art forms, and spiritual values from different regions are deeply interconnected.
Emphasising the growth of the programme over the years, PM said Kashi Tamil Sangamam has gone beyond being a cultural event to become a movement that fosters mutual understanding and respect among people from different parts of the country. It has helped younger generations rediscover shared heritage and appreciate India’s diversity as a source of strength, he added.
The Prime Minister also highlighted that such initiatives play a crucial role in reinforcing national integration by reviving historical ties and promoting people-to-people contact. According to him, Kashi Tamil Sangamam perfectly embodies the vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat by bringing together the spiritual and cultural essence of the North and the South.
Kashi Tamil Sangamam is organised to celebrate the enduring links between the ancient centres of learning and spirituality of Kashi and Tamil Nadu, featuring cultural performances, academic interactions, exhibitions, and heritage tours.
