Kerala is set to host the Labour Conclave 2025 on December 19, bringing together policymakers, trade union leaders, labour experts, industry representatives, and academics to deliberate on key issues affecting the workforce.
The conclave will focus on labour reforms, workers’ rights, employment generation, and the future of work, with special emphasis on emerging challenges such as the gig economy, platform-based employment, skill development, and social security for unorganised workers. Discussions are also expected to address safe working conditions, gender equity at workplaces, and the impact of technology and automation on jobs.
Senior state and Union government officials are likely to participate in the event, along with representatives from major trade unions and industry bodies. The conclave aims to evolve practical policy recommendations that balance worker welfare with economic growth.
By hosting the Labour Conclave 2025, Kerala seeks to reaffirm its reputation as a state with a strong labour movement and progressive labour policies, while positioning itself as a platform for constructive dialogue on shaping a future-ready and inclusive labour ecosystem.
