WhatsApp Breaks Language Barriers with New In-App Translation Feature

New Delhi: WhatsApp has unveiled a powerful new in-app translation tool, enabling users to chat seamlessly in multiple languages without relying on third-party apps.

By simply long-pressing a message, users can instantly translate it into their preferred language. Android users currently get support for six languages — English, Spanish, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, and Arabic — while iPhone users enjoy a wider range with 19+ languages, including French, Japanese, Mandarin, Turkish, and Korean.

A standout feature for Android is automatic thread translation, which allows entire conversations to be translated in real-time — a game-changer for group chats and global business discussions.

Though WhatsApp hasn’t announced a full rollout timeline, the feature is already live for select Android and iOS users worldwide, marking a major leap in breaking down communication barriers.
