Thiruvananthapuram – Former Kerala Chief Minister and veteran CPM leader VS Achuthanandan is showing signs of recovery after being hospitalized following a heart attack. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan personally visited him at Pattom SUT Hospital on Tuesday, where the 90-year-old leader is currently under treatment in the intensive care unit.
Though the Chief Minister spoke with Achuthanandan’s family and doctors to assess the situation, he refrained from making any public comments about the health status.
According to the latest medical bulletin, the veteran leader’s condition is now satisfactory, with doctors noting a slight improvement. A team of medical specialists, including cardiologists, intensivists, and nephrologists, is closely monitoring his progress.
Prominent political figures—including CPM General Secretary MA Baby, State Secretary MV Govindan, LDF Convenor TP Ramakrishnan, Elamaram Kareem, and CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam—also visited the hospital, underscoring the deep concern across political circles for one of Kerala’s tallest leaders.
