Vizhinjam Port Cleared for Two Multi-Modal Logistics Parks, Kerala Govt Gives Green Signal

The state government has given its approval for setting up two multi-modal logistics parks linked to the Vizhinjam International Seaport. The decision is aimed at strengthening supply-chain infrastructure and positioning Vizhinjam as a key transshipment and logistics hub in the region.

The proposed logistics parks will integrate road, rail, and port connectivity, enabling seamless movement of cargo and reducing transportation costs and turnaround time. Equipped with warehousing, cold storage, container handling, value-added services, and customs-related facilities, the parks are expected to attract global logistics players and large-scale investments.

Officials said the initiative will significantly enhance Vizhinjam port’s operational efficiency while creating new employment opportunities and accelerating industrial growth in Kerala. With the port nearing full commercial operations, the logistics parks are seen as a strategic step towards making Vizhinjam a vital gateway for international trade and a catalyst for the state’s economic expansion.
