Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh – In a groundbreaking ceremony for investment proposals received during the UP Global Investors Summit 2023 (UPGIS 2023), Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the BJP government’s efforts in transforming Uttar Pradesh from red-tapism to a “red-carpet culture” over the past seven years. The event, held in February last year, showcased the state’s progress in both ease of living and ease of doing business.
Emphasizing the government’s commitment to the saturation of welfare schemes, Prime Minister Modi stated that achieving “true justice and true secularism” involves providing equal opportunities to all beneficiaries. He highlighted the significant decrease in crime rates and the substantial increase in trading and business opportunities during the tenure of the double-engine government.
“We have given equal importance to ease of living and ease of doing business in Uttar Pradesh. The purpose of a double-engine government is that no beneficiary is left out of any government scheme,” said Prime Minister Modi during the ceremony.
Referring to the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, he mentioned that the initiative, backed by “Modi’s guarantee,” aimed to ensure the saturation of government welfare schemes across various parts of Uttar Pradesh.
The Prime Minister commended the state’s progress, noting that Uttar Pradesh is witnessing a surge in investment across sectors. “We are gathered here with the resolve to build ‘Viksit Uttar Pradesh’ for ‘Viksit Bharat.’ Today, lakhs and crores of rupees of investment are coming into Uttar Pradesh,” he added.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also addressed the gathering, underscoring the positive developments in the state and its newfound attractiveness for investment and employment.
The event marked a significant milestone in Uttar Pradesh’s journey towards development and economic growth, showcasing the successful transition from red-tapism to a more business-friendly environment under the leadership of the BJP government.
