Kochi: The much-anticipated Suresh Gopi starrer ‘Janaki v/s State of Kerala’ will now undergo a minor title change, following a decision by the film’s production team. The movie’s title will now officially read ‘Janaki V v/s State of Kerala’, with the insertion of the initial ‘V’ to the protagonist’s name.
The adjustment comes after legal discussions and suggestions to avoid potential confusion or misinterpretation of the film’s fictional storyline as a real-life legal case. By including the middle initial, the filmmakers aim to clarify that ‘Janaki’ is a fictional character and not meant to represent any actual individual involved in a legal dispute with the state.
Starring Suresh Gopi in a powerful lead role, the courtroom drama is one of the actor’s most awaited films of the year, marking his return to intense legal and investigative roles that have earned him a loyal fan base.
The production team stated that the change is purely precautionary and that it will not affect the storyline, content, or release plans of the film. Promotional materials and posters will be updated accordingly ahead of the official release.
