A major power outage caused by a Tata Power grid failure wreaked havoc on Mumbai’s Central Railway services, disrupting the daily commute of thousands of passengers. The outage, which occurred on a Monday morning, led to the suspension of local trains, particularly affecting routes between Churchgate and Borivli on the Western Railway. The power failure, originating from Tata Power’s infrastructure in Kalwa, caused significant delays, impacting large parts of Mumbai, including Thane and Kalyan.
Although the power was eventually restored, the disruption led to widespread inconvenience for commuters and affected economic activities across the city. Despite the challenges, essential services continued operating with adjustments. The authorities worked quickly with Maharashtra’s State Electricity Transmission Company to resolve the issue.
