Chennai: The Southern Railway has deemed the Mysuru-Dharbhanga Express entering the loop line, which resulted in a deadly accident in Tamil Nadu, as an “unusual” incident. A high-level committee has been appointed to investigate the factors leading to this tragic event. The affected section of the track has been temporarily closed for further inquiry and safety reasons.
The Southern Railway General Manager, following a site inspection, highlighted that it was not standard procedure for the express train to switch to the loop line. This unusual deviation will be thoroughly investigated by the committee to determine whether there were any technical failures or procedural lapses involved.
Efforts are underway to restore regular train operations in the area, and railway authorities have intensified safety measures across the network to prevent future accidents. The committee’s findings are eagerly awaited to bring clarity to this unexpected and fatal event.
