Suspended IAS Officer N. Prasanth Alleges High-Level Conspiracy, Demands Pending Promotion

In a bold move that has stirred Kerala’s administrative circles, suspended IAS officer N. Prasanth has demanded immediate action on his long-delayed promotion, alleging a high-level conspiracy orchestrated by senior bureaucrats to sabotage his career.

In a fiery Facebook post, Prasanth accused Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan, who is set to retire on April 30, and other top officials of fabricating disciplinary charges to stall his promotion, pending since 2022. He claims the action violates All India Service rules, which mandate resolution of promotion-related matters within six months.

Prasanth, a 2007-batch officer, was suspended in November 2024 for alleged indiscipline, including controversial social media remarks targeting senior officials. He argues that these charges were concocted solely to block his career progression.

Taking his allegations further, Prasanth demanded criminal proceedings against Additional Chief Secretary A. Jayathilak, IAS officer K. Gopalakrishnan, and a media outlet, accusing them of conspiracy and document fabrication.

With Jayathilak tipped to become the next Chief Secretary, the timing of Prasanth’s allegations adds another layer of intrigue to the controversy.

In his post, Prasanth also warned the government against revoking his suspension without addressing his grievances, stating that such a move would undermine governance and set a poor precedent.

The explosive revelations have sparked debate within bureaucratic and political circles, raising serious questions about transparency and fairness in Kerala’s administrative processes.
