South Korea’s Han Kang Wins 2024 Nobel Literature Prize for ‘Intense Poetic Prose’

South Korean author Han Kang has been awarded the 2024 Nobel Prize in Literature, becoming the first South Korean to receive this prestigious honor. The Nobel Committee recognized Han for her “intense poetic prose,” which has captivated readers worldwide with its depth, emotion, and lyrical quality.

Han Kang began her literary career in 1993 and has since gained international acclaim, particularly for her 2007 novel The Vegetarian, which won the 2016 Man Booker International Prize.
