India has confirmed its second case of Mpox (monkeypox), with a 38-year-old man from Malappuram, Kerala, testing positive for the virus after returning from the UAE. The man initially sought treatment at a private hospital but was later transferred to Manjeri Medical College for specialized care. He remains in isolation, and the Kerala health authorities are closely monitoring the situation. Health Minister Veena George has urged anyone showing symptoms after traveling abroad to seek medical attention immediately.
The government has assured the public that there is no widespread risk, and the case is under control. This marks India’s second Mpox infection, following an earlier case in Delhi involving a traveler from West Africa.
