Chennai: Sanju Samson produced an outstanding batting performance, scoring a century in just 52 balls against the Delhi Capitals in an Indian Premier League match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday.
Continuing his excellent form, Samson scored 106 runs, leading Chennai’s innings after being sent in to bat. At the end of 18 overs, Chennai had reached 184 for the loss of two wickets, with Sanju playing a key role in building the total.
Shivam Dube remained at the crease alongside Samson, supporting the innings. Earlier, Delhi captain Axar Patel won the toss and chose to bowl first. Chennai made notable changes to their lineup, with MS Dhoni missing the match due to injury, while Dewald Brevis returned to the team.
With Samson’s century, Chennai established a strong position heading into the final stages of the innings.
