Sabarimala Gold Loss Row: Kerala BJP Alleges Sacrilege, Demands CBI Probe

The Kerala BJP has raised serious allegations over the reported loss of gold at the Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple, calling it an act of sacrilege and demanding a CBI investigation into the incident.

State BJP leaders alleged that the disappearance of gold ornaments and offerings linked to the temple amounts to a grave violation of the sanctity of one of Hinduism’s most revered pilgrimage centres. The party accused the state government and the Travancore Devaswom Board of failing to ensure proper security and transparency in the management of temple assets.

According to BJP leaders, the issue goes beyond financial loss and directly affects the faith of millions of devotees. They claimed that repeated complaints and irregularities related to temple administration have not been adequately addressed and that only a central agency probe can bring out the truth.

The BJP has demanded that the CBI be entrusted with a comprehensive investigation, including auditing temple gold reserves, examining past records, and fixing accountability. Party leaders warned of statewide protests if the government fails to act decisively.

Meanwhile, the state government and Devaswom Board authorities have maintained that internal inquiries are underway and that necessary corrective steps will be taken. However, the controversy has intensified political tensions, with opposition parties pressing for greater transparency in the management of temple affairs.
