Revised Dates Announced for 64th Kerala State School Kalolsavam in Thrissur

Thrissur is gearing up for the grand 64th edition of the Kerala State School Kalolsavam, the world’s largest youth cultural festival, with a revised schedule announced by the Department of General Education. The much-awaited event, originally planned for January 7 to 11, 2026, will now be held from January 14 to 18, 2026.

Officials said the rescheduling was necessary due to logistical challenges in arranging the previously selected venues on the earlier dates. Despite the change, preparations are in full swing in the “Cultural Capital of Kerala” as the city readies to host over 14,000 students from across the state. The participants will compete in 249 artistic events—spanning music, dance, drama, and visual arts—celebrating Kerala’s vibrant cultural heritage.

This year’s edition marks the return of the State School Kalolsavam to Thrissur after several years, and the excitement is palpable among students and teachers alike. Authorities are working to ensure top-notch arrangements, including eco-friendly venues, improved digital scoring systems, and live streaming of major events. The festival promises to be a colorful spectacle showcasing the best of young Kerala’s creativity and talent.
