UDF candidate Rajan J Pallan intensified his election campaign in Thrissur on Tuesday by visiting the city’s main vegetable and fish markets, where he interacted directly with traders and workers and sought their support.
Arriving early in the morning, Rajan J Pallan met shop owners and labourers, highlighting development initiatives carried out during his tenure as Mayor of the Thrissur Corporation. He pointed to the long-standing issue of waterlogging and muddy conditions in the market, which, he said, was resolved during his leadership by raising and concreting the market base.
The improvements have since become a key talking point among traders, many of whom acknowledged the changes brought to the market infrastructure.
Expressing confidence ahead of the elections, Rajan J Pallan said he believes his track record in infrastructure development will translate into electoral support. “It is a great satisfaction to have addressed the long-standing issues faced by the market, which is the heartbeat of the city. I am confident people will support the continuation of development,” he said.
The candidate also criticised what he described as stagnation in recent development and outlined his vision to transform Thrissur into a model city in the coming years.
Pallan received an enthusiastic response from workers as he moved from shop to shop, accompanied by local UDF leaders and party workers.
