New Delhi: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has dismissed reports suggesting delays in the rollout of Vande Bharat sleeper trains due to design modifications.
Earlier reports claimed that Indian Railways had requested changes, including the addition of toilets and a pantry car, which allegedly required design adjustments by the Russian company Transmashholding, a key collaborator in the project.
The minister clarified that the development of sleeper versions of the Vande Bharat trains is proceeding as planned, with no delays linked to the reported design changes. He emphasized the government’s commitment to introducing modern, high-speed sleeper trains that meet passenger comfort and utility needs.
Vande Bharat trains have become a symbol of India’s push towards advanced rail infrastructure, and the sleeper versions aim to further enhance the long-distance travel experience.
