Pulwama Operation: Security Forces Eliminate Three Jaish-e-Mohammed Militants in Swift Encounter

Srinagar: In a major success for counterterrorism efforts, security forces gunned down three Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists during a fierce encounter in Pulwama’s Tral area on Wednesday. The encounter took place in Nadir village, where the terrorists had taken shelter.

The deceased militants were identified as Asif Sheikh, Aamir Nasir Wani, and Yawar Ahmad Bhat, all residents of Kashmir and active members of the Pakistan-based terror group JeM.

This marks the second major anti-terror operation in the Kashmir Valley within 48 hours. Acting on precise intelligence, personnel from the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu & Kashmir Police launched a coordinated search operation that led to the encounter.

Just two days earlier, security forces neutralized three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists in Shopian district, recovering a large stock of arms and cash. The back-to-back operations have triggered intensified searches in the region amid fears of more militants in hiding.

Authorities have praised the successful mission as a significant blow to terrorist activity in the region.
