Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday welcomed the passage of the SHANTI Bill by Parliament, describing it as a historic and transformative piece of legislation aimed at strengthening social harmony, inclusive development and institutional transparency.
In a statement issued after the Bill was cleared by both Houses, the Prime Minister said the SHANTI Bill reflects the government’s commitment to peace, justice and people-centric governance. He praised Members of Parliament for engaging in a detailed debate and contributing to the democratic process.
“The SHANTI Bill will play a crucial role in building a more compassionate, secure and inclusive society. It places people at the centre of policy-making and reinforces our constitutional values,” the Prime Minister said.
According to the government, the legislation focuses on systematic reforms, improved coordination between institutions and enhanced safeguards for citizens, while promoting transparency and accountability in administration. The Bill is also expected to strengthen mechanisms for conflict resolution and social welfare delivery.
The Prime Minister noted that the passage of the Bill aligns with the broader vision of nation-building and long-term stability, adding that its effective implementation would ensure tangible benefits for ordinary citizens.
With Parliament’s approval secured, the SHANTI Bill will now move forward for implementation, marking what the government has described as an important milestone in India’s legislative journey.
