Prime Minister Narendra Modi Addresses Event Marking a Decade of Startup India in New Delhi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed a special programme in New Delhi to mark ten years of the Startup India initiative, highlighting the transformation of India into one of the world’s fastest-growing startup ecosystems.

Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister said that over the past decade, Startup India has become a powerful movement, encouraging innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation across the country. PM noted that startups are no longer limited to metropolitan cities, but are emerging strongly from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, reflecting the depth and inclusiveness of India’s entrepreneurial growth.

Prime Minister Modi underlined the government’s focus on creating a supportive ecosystem through policy reforms, ease of doing business, access to funding, and regulatory simplification. PM said startups are playing a crucial role in key sectors such as technology, manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, clean energy, and digital services, contributing significantly to India’s economic and social development.

Emphasising innovation as the foundation of a self-reliant India, the Prime Minister said Indian startups are increasingly providing global solutions and positioning the country as a hub for innovation and technology. PM also praised young entrepreneurs for their risk-taking spirit and problem-solving approach.

The programme was attended by startup founders, investors, industry leaders, and policymakers, who reflected on the journey of Startup India over the last decade and discussed the roadmap for the future. The event reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening India’s startup ecosystem and empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs.
