President Draupadi Murmu to Embark on Four-Day Kerala Visit; Sabarimala Pilgrimage on Wednesday

Thiruvananthapuram: President Draupadi Murmu is set to arrive in Kerala on Tuesday for a four-day official visit, highlighted by her much-anticipated pilgrimage to the Sabarimala temple on Wednesday.

The President will land at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport at 6:20 p.m. tomorrow and stay overnight at Raj Bhavan. On Wednesday morning, she will depart by helicopter at 9:20 a.m. from the state capital and land at Nilakkal helipad by 10:20 a.m. From there, she will travel by road to Pampa and then proceed to the Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa Temple.

President Murmu is expected to be at Sabarimala between 11:55 a.m. and 12:25 p.m. before returning to Thiruvananthapuram by 5:30 p.m.

In preparation for her visit, a full-scale security rehearsal will be held on Tuesday. The final phase of the security drill will take place at Sannidhanam, Pampa, and Nilakkal, where the Gurkha convoy vehicles assigned to the President will conduct mock runs between key routes. Security inspections have already been carried out at all three locations, and District Police Chief Anand will conduct a final review today.

The President’s schedule in Kerala also includes several key events. On Thursday at 10 a.m., she will unveil a statue of former President K.R. Narayanan at Raj Bhavan. Later in the day, at 12:20 p.m., she will take part in the centenary celebrations of Sree Narayana Guru’s Mahasamadhi at Sivagiri, and at 4:15 p.m., she will inaugurate the valedictory function marking the Platinum Jubilee of St. Thomas College, Pala.

On Friday, President Murmu will attend the centenary celebrations of St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam, at 12:10 p.m., before departing for Delhi from Kochi later in the day.
