Positive Shift in Kerala’s Industrial Culture and Entrepreneurial Spirit: Minister K.N. Balagopal

Kerala Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal on Monday said the State is witnessing a positive transformation in its industrial culture and entrepreneurial mindset, driven by policy reforms and improved governance.

Addressing a public function, the Minister said Kerala’s significant improvement in the Ease of Doing Business rankings has restored investor confidence and encouraged entrepreneurs to return to the State to start new ventures. “Our advancements in the Ease of Doing Business rankings are drawing investors back to Kerala and motivating young entrepreneurs to launch businesses here,” he said.

Balagopal highlighted that streamlined approval processes, reduced regulatory hurdles, and increased digitalisation of government services have played a key role in improving the business environment. FM added that the government’s focus on startup ecosystems, MSMEs, and knowledge-based industries has begun to yield tangible results.

The Minister also pointed to the growth of industrial parks, IT hubs, and infrastructure projects across the State as indicators of Kerala’s changing industrial landscape. According to him, these developments are creating employment opportunities and contributing to sustainable economic growth.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to inclusive development, Balagopal said Kerala aims to balance industrial expansion with environmental protection and social welfare. FM expressed confidence that the renewed entrepreneurial spirit would position Kerala as a competitive destination for investment in the coming years.
