Thrissur: A vibrant product exhibition and trade fair for beneficiaries of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme was successfully organised in Thrissur on January 14 and 15, providing a major boost to traditional artisans and craftsmen across the State. The event was hosted by the MSME Development & Facilitation Office (MSME-DFO), Thrissur, under the Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
The two-day exhibition brought together beneficiaries working in 18 different traditional and artisanal sectors, with the aim of nurturing their skills, extending financial and credit support, and opening up new marketing opportunities. The initiative focused on empowering artisans by helping them transform craftsmanship into sustainable livelihoods.
With more than 100 stalls, the fair showcased an impressive range of handcrafted products and manufactured goods, reflecting the rich diversity and skill of India’s traditional trades. The event served as a valuable platform for beneficiaries to directly engage with customers, promote their products, and explore wider market avenues.
Speaking on the occasion, MSME-DFO Assistant Director Vishesh Agarwal said the programme is designed to strengthen both production and marketing across 18 sectors, while building a stable and long-term market network for PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries. He noted that such initiatives play a crucial role in preserving traditional skills while ensuring sustainable economic growth for artisans.
