Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed the launch of Google’s new Artificial Intelligence Hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, calling it a bold step toward realizing the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).
The Prime Minister described the project as a “powerful force in democratizing technology”, adding that it will bring AI-driven tools to citizens, boost the digital economy, and cement India’s position as a global technology leader.
The ambitious project marks one of Google’s largest global investments, with the company committing US $15 billion over the next five years to develop a gigawatt-scale data center campus, expand fiber networks, strengthen energy infrastructure, and build a new international subsea gateway to enhance global connectivity.
Developed in partnership with the Adani Group and regional stakeholders, the initiative is expected to generate thousands of jobs, spur infrastructure growth, and transform Visakhapatnam into a major AI innovation hub.
Industry analysts say the hub will play a pivotal role in positioning India as a world leader in artificial intelligence, attracting top global talent and investment. As Google places a massive bet on India’s digital potential, experts believe this milestone will redefine the country’s technological and socio-economic landscape — making Visakhapatnam the next frontier of India’s AI revolution.
