Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated three cutting-edge supercomputers, part of the PARAM Rudra series, as part of India’s National Supercomputing Mission. These state-of-the-art systems, valued at ₹850 crore, are designed to advance scientific research with a particular focus on weather and climate predictions. With installations in Pune, Delhi, and Kolkata, they aim to significantly improve disaster preparedness by enhancing forecasts for extreme weather events like cyclones and droughts.
During the launch, PM Modi emphasized that such technological advancements should drive innovation while also uplifting the poor, marking a bold step toward a more self-reliant India. These supercomputers are set to transform research in fields ranging from material science to astronomy, contributing to India’s expanding role in global tech innovation.
