Malda, West Bengal: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a series of major rail and road infrastructure projects worth over ₹3,250 crore in Malda, giving a significant boost to connectivity and development in the region.
The projects are aimed at strengthening railway infrastructure, enhancing passenger amenities, and improving freight movement, while the road initiatives focus on upgrading highways to reduce travel time and improve safety. Together, they are expected to spur economic activity, improve logistics, and create new employment opportunities.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said the initiatives reflect the Centre’s commitment to transforming India’s transport network and ensuring balanced regional growth. PM noted that improved connectivity would not only benefit West Bengal but also strengthen trade and mobility across eastern India.
