New Delhi/Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on September 2 unveil the Bihar Rajya Jeevika Nidhi Saakh Sahkari Sangh Limited, a first-of-its-kind cooperative institution designed to boost women’s self-help groups (SHGs) and strengthen rural credit access across the state.
The initiative is aimed at expanding financial inclusion, providing affordable credit, and supporting livelihood activities for rural households—especially women associated with the successful Jeevika programme.
According to officials, the new body will empower lakhs of SHG members, ensuring smoother credit flow, reducing dependence on moneylenders, and enabling sustainable income opportunities for women-led families.
The launch event is expected to see the participation of state leaders, Jeevika beneficiaries, and representatives from the cooperative sector, marking a major step towards women-driven rural economic growth in Bihar.
