New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil a massive youth-centric package worth over ₹62,000 crore on October 4, aimed at boosting education, skill development, and entrepreneurship across India.
The centerpiece of this initiative is PM-SETU (Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs), a ₹60,000 crore program to modernize 1,000 government ITIs with state-of-the-art infrastructure, digital learning tools, incubation centers, and industry collaborations.
Alongside, the PM will inaugurate 1,200 vocational skill labs in Navodaya Vidyalayas and Eklavya schools across 34 states and UTs, giving students hands-on training in 12 high-demand sectors like IT, electronics, agriculture, logistics, and tourism. The event will also mark the fourth Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh, celebrating top ITI graduates.
Bihar will receive special attention, with the revival of the Mukhyamantri Nishchay Svyam Sahayata Bhatta Yojana (₹1,000 monthly stipend + free training for 5 lakh graduates), a revamped Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme (interest-free loans up to ₹4 lakh), and the launch of the Bihar Yuva Ayog for youth aged 18–45. Modi will also lay the foundation for new academic infrastructure under PM-USHA and dedicate the cutting-edge Bihta campus of NIT Patna, featuring a 5G lab and innovation hub.
These sweeping measures are designed to create a powerful ecosystem of skills, education, and entrepreneurship, positioning India’s youth as the driving force of the nation’s future growth.
