Prime Minister Narendra Modi will engage with participants during the Smart India Hackathon 2024 Grand Finale on December 11, 2024, via video conferencing. The event, now in its seventh edition, will take place across 51 nodal centers nationwide, with over 1,300 student teams showcasing innovative solutions to real-world challenges posed by government ministries, industries, and other organizations.
The Hackathon comprises a 36-hour Software Edition and a Hardware Edition running through December 15, focusing on various themes such as AI, space technology, water management, and healthcare. This year’s edition reflects a significant increase in participation, with approximately 49,000 students advancing to the national level after competing in internal hackathons. The event supports India’s drive for technological innovation and problem-solving among youth, aligning with the government’s broader goals of Digital India and self-reliance (Atmanirbhar Bharat).
