Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the first-ever Bodoland Mohotsav, a grand event celebrating language, literature, and culture, in New Delhi. Organized to mark the journey of the Bodo community since the historic Bodo Peace Accord of 2020, the festival aims to foster a vibrant, peaceful Bodo society by showcasing their rich cultural heritage.
The Bodoland Mohotsav will feature a diverse program, including literary sessions, cultural performances, and exhibitions, reflecting the resilience and growth of the Bodo people. The 2020 accord, signed under PM Modi’s leadership, ended decades of conflict, granting greater autonomy to the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) within Assam. Since then, the region has seen efforts to rebuild, promote development, and integrate the Bodo culture more deeply within Indian heritage.
The event is expected to draw attendees from across India, spotlighting the Bodo culture’s significance in the country’s broader cultural landscape and strengthening its identity as part of a unified, peaceful India.
