PM Modi to Distribute Over 50 Lakh Property Cards Under SVAMITVA Scheme: Transforming Rural Land Ownership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute over 50 lakh property cards under the SVAMITVA Scheme on December 27, 2024, benefiting rural property owners across 46,000 villages in 200 districts spanning 10 states and 2 Union Territories.

Launched on April 24, 2020, the SVAMITVA Scheme aims to provide official property ownership documents to rural households, enabling easier access to bank loans, reducing property disputes, and fostering economic empowerment.

Utilizing drone technology, surveys have been successfully completed in 92% of targeted villages, covering over 3.1 lakh villages nationwide. So far, approximately 2.2 crore property cards have been prepared for around 1.5 lakh villages.

The scheme has achieved 100% saturation in Tripura, Goa, Uttarakhand, and Haryana, with significant progress in states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and multiple Union Territories.

During the virtual event, PM Modi will interact with selected beneficiaries and address the nation, emphasizing the scheme’s role in enhancing rural economic growth. By granting ‘Record of Rights’ to property owners, the initiative facilitates property monetization, institutional credit, and improved property tax assessment systems in rural areas.

This landmark step reaffirms the government’s commitment to empowering rural citizens and revolutionizing property ownership records across India.
