New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a national-level ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan’ at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on April 13 at around 11 am.
The event is expected to bring together eminent personalities and women achievers from diverse fields, including government, academia, science, sports, entrepreneurship, media, social work, and culture.
The Sammelan is being organised to emphasise the government’s commitment to women-led development and to strengthen women’s participation in shaping India’s growth journey.
The programme also comes in the backdrop of the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’, passed by Parliament in September 2023, which provides for one-third reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies. A Parliament session is scheduled to be convened on April 16 to focus on its implementation.
The event will highlight the growing role of women in governance and leadership across all levels, from local bodies to Parliament, and stress the importance of greater representation of women in decision-making processes.
It will also underline the role of women in achieving the vision of a developed India, or “Viksit Bharat 2047”.
