New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tributes to Mahatma Jyotirao Phule on his birth anniversary, describing him as a visionary reformer who dedicated his life to the ideals of equality, justice, and education.
In his message, the Prime Minister highlighted Phule’s pioneering role in advocating for the rights of women and marginalized communities. He noted that Phule’s efforts helped establish education as a powerful tool for social empowerment.
Modi also pointed out that this year marks the beginning of the 200th birth anniversary celebrations of the social reformer. To commemorate the occasion, he shared his reflections in an article, emphasising the continued relevance of Phule’s thoughts on education, learning, and inclusive welfare.
In a series of posts on X, the Prime Minister reiterated that Mahatma Phule’s vision continues to inspire generations and guide efforts towards building a more equitable society. He expressed hope that Phule’s ideals would continue to motivate people in the pursuit of social progress and inclusive development.
