PM Modi Inaugurates India Mobile Congress 2025: “Now Is the Best Time to Invest, Innovate & Make in India”

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 9th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025 at Yashobhoomi, Delhi, reaffirming India’s commitment to becoming a global leader in telecom and digital innovation under the theme “Innovate to Transform.” Addressing the nation’s tech community, PM Modi highlighted India’s rapid digital transformation — noting that 1 GB of data now costs less than a cup of tea, making connectivity accessible to millions. PM announced that India’s indigenously developed 4G stack is now ready for global export, marking a major leap toward technological self-reliance.

The Prime Minister also revealed that nearly one lakh new mobile towers have been deployed across the country to enhance connectivity, particularly in rural and underserved areas. Reflecting on India’s progress from struggling with 2G to achieving nationwide 5G coverage, PM emphasized that the country’s skilled manpower, innovative mindset, and mobility uniquely position it to lead the global digital revolution.

Reiterating his “Make in India” vision, Modi called for continued reforms to attract investment in semiconductors, electronics, and mobile device manufacturing, while stressing the need for modern regulatory frameworks that promote faster infrastructure development. Pm urged deeper collaboration between startups, academia, and industry, stating that India must seize opportunities where global supply chains face disruptions.

The India Mobile Congress 2025 brings together global leaders in 6G, quantum communication, semiconductors, optical networking, and cybersecurity, reinforcing India’s ambition to move from being a technology adopter to a world-class innovator and exporter in the digital economy.
