Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been awarded Dominica’s highest national honor, the Dominica Award of Honour, in a ceremony held during the Second India-CARICOM Summit in Georgetown, Guyana, on November 20, 2024. President Sylvanie Burton presented the award, recognizing Modi’s leadership, support during the COVID-19 pandemic, and his efforts to strengthen India-Dominica relations.
The event was attended by prominent Caribbean leaders, including the Prime Ministers of Barbados, Saint Lucia, Grenada, and Antigua and Barbuda. Dedicating the accolade to the people of India, PM Modi reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing bilateral ties and fostering stronger connections with Dominica and the CARICOM region.
