PM Modi Highlights Women’s Empowerment at Nari Shakti Sammelan

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that India’s “Nari Shakti” has made immense contributions across sectors and called for expanding opportunities to further empower women.

Addressing the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan’ at Vigyan Bhawan, he emphasised that women are excelling even in traditionally male-dominated fields and play a key role in India’s development.

The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, aimed at increasing women’s representation in legislative bodies, and said its timely implementation would strengthen democracy.

He noted that women’s leadership is already visible at the grassroots level, with lakhs of women participating in Panchayati Raj institutions, and stressed that greater participation in decision-making leads to better outcomes in sectors like health, education, and water.

Modi also underlined various government initiatives supporting women at every stage of life and said empowering women remains central to the vision of a developed India by 2047.
