PM Modi Calls on Citizens to Join ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ Drive

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens across the country to actively participate in the Swachhata Hi Seva movement, stressing that cleanliness is a shared responsibility, not just the duty of the government.

In his message, the Prime Minister described the campaign as a symbol of collective responsibility and national pride, appealing to people from all walks of life to contribute to its success.

The initiative, which runs until October 2—Gandhi Jayanti—forms part of the larger Swachh Bharat Mission. It includes nationwide cleanliness drives, awareness programs, and community engagement activities.

Across cities, such as Patna, local authorities have launched efforts to clean bus stands, markets, railway stations, and heritage sites. Zero-waste practices during festivals, health camps for sanitation workers, and beautification of civic infrastructure are also being emphasized.

PM Modi underlined that small steps—like cleaning neighborhoods, proper waste disposal, and reducing single-use plastics—when adopted by millions, can collectively transform the nation’s health, hygiene, and civic pride.
