Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the growing enthusiasm among India’s youth for endurance sports, after witnessing their remarkable participation in the Ironman 70.3 Triathlon held in Goa. Calling it a “big boost for the Fit India movement,” the Prime Minister praised the event for showcasing the country’s rising fitness culture and youth dynamism.

Glad to see increased participation by our youth in events like Ironman 70.3 which was held in Goa today. Such events contribute towards the #FitIndia movement. Congratulations to everyone who took part. Delighted that two of our young Party colleagues, Annamalai and Tejasvi Surya, are among those who have successfully completed the Ironman Triathlon.

The Ironman 70.3 Goa is one of the toughest endurance challenges in the world, combining a 1.9 km swim, 90 km cycling, and a 21.1 km half marathon. Successfully completing it is a mark of incredible discipline, determination, and physical fitness.

Both K. Annamalai, Tamil Nadu BJP President, and Tejasvi Surya, Bengaluru South MP, earned national attention after finishing the grueling race—an achievement that drew praise from the Prime Minister himself.

PM Modi emphasized that such participation by young leaders and citizens alike strengthens India’s commitment to health and fitness, saying it reflects a new national mindset—one that values resilience, endurance, and self-discipline.

With the Prime Minister’s encouragement, events like Ironman 70.3 Goa are not just athletic competitions—they’re becoming symbols of a fitter, stronger, and more determined India.
