Pakistan has been ranked as the most polluted country in the world, according to the latest World Air Quality Report. The report, released by IQAir, places Bangladesh in second position and Tajikistan third. India is ranked sixth in the list. The 2025 report analysed air quality data from 9,446 cities across 143 countries, regions, and territories.
It is based on data collected from over 40,000 monitoring stations and sensors worldwide. These include government agencies, universities, non-profit groups, and private organisations. The findings highlight the growing concern over air pollution and its impact on public health across many countries.
