Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asim Munir, has warned India of a potential nuclear strike, vowing to obliterate any dam built on the Indus River with “ten missiles.”
Speaking at a dinner hosted by businessman Adnan Asad in Tampa, Florida — during his visit to attend the retirement of U.S. Central Command’s outgoing commander, General Michael Kurilla — Munir declared, “We are a nuclear nation. If our existence is threatened, we will take half the world with us.”
Accusing India of treating the Indus River as its private property, Munir cautioned that Pakistan has “no shortage of missiles” and would not hesitate to launch nuclear weapons if provoked. He revealed that Pakistan’s first strikes would target “valuable assets” in eastern India before expanding to the west.
Condemning India’s reported temporary suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, Munir said it endangers the lives of 250 million Pakistanis. “If India builds a dam, we will destroy it with ten missiles. Let no one forget — Pakistan’s missile arsenal is ready,” he asserted.
Invoking religion, Munir added, “Pakistan is the only country built on the foundation of the Islamic Kalima. Allah will bless us with energy and resources, just as He blessed Medina, founded by Prophet Muhammad as the base of Islamic governance.”
This is Munir’s second visit to the U.S. in two months, underscoring the tense geopolitical backdrop of his statements.
