The National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia (BeerBiceps), comedian Samay Raina, and others to appear on February 17, 2025, following derogatory remarks made during the YouTube show “India’s Got Latent.” The commission strongly condemned the language used and stressed the urgent need for content regulation on digital platforms.
The controversy erupted after an episode featuring Allahbadia, Raina, YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, and content creator Apoorva Mukhija, where Allahbadia allegedly asked an inappropriate question to a participant, triggering widespread social media outrage.
In response, a formal complaint was filed against Allahbadia, Mukhija, Raina, and the show’s organizers, citing abusive language and offensive content. The complaint was lodged with both the Mumbai Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women’s Commission, demanding strict legal action.
The NCW’s intervention underscores the increasing concerns over content moderation on online platforms and the responsibility of digital influencers in maintaining ethical discourse in public media.
