MS Dhoni Moves to Trademark ‘Captain Cool’; Seeks Exclusive Rights to Iconic Nickname

Ranchi: MS Dhoni, India’s legendary former cricket captain and one of the calmest minds the sport has ever seen, is now making a move off the field — to officially own the title that defined his leadership style: “Captain Cool.”

The nickname, etched in the hearts of cricket fans since he led India to victory in the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007, is now in the process of being trademarked by Dhoni. According to reports, he filed an application with the Trademarks Registry on June 5, and it was officially published in the Trademarks Journal on June 16.

The trademark is being registered under categories related to sports training, coaching services, and facilities, suggesting potential future use in branding or business ventures tied to Dhoni’s sporting legacy.

Known for his ice-cool demeanor even in the tensest moments of international cricket, Dhoni’s leadership style earned him the moniker “Captain Cool” from fans and experts alike. Whether it was guiding a young team to a historic win in 2007 or calmly finishing tight matches in ODIs and Tests, Dhoni’s unshakable composure became a signature trait.

As he looks to legally secure the nickname, Dhoni is not just protecting a title — he’s safeguarding a legacy. The move ensures that “Captain Cool” remains uniquely his, both on the field and in the world of sports branding.
