Modi visits Assam tea estate, interacts with workers

DIBRUGARH: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday visited a tea estate in Assam’s Dibrugarh district, where he interacted with workers and took part in tea plucking.

During the visit, the Prime Minister joined workers in the fields and tried his hand at plucking tea leaves, drawing enthusiastic responses from those present. He spent time engaging with workers, especially women, and enquired about their daily lives, working conditions, and challenges.

Modi also took selfies with the workers and described the experience as “memorable,” highlighting the cultural and economic importance of Assam’s tea industry. Officials said the interaction provided an opportunity for the Prime Minister to directly connect with tea garden workers and understand grassroots issues.

The visit is part of his ongoing tour of the state, where he is also scheduled to participate in public meetings and election-related programmes.
