Narendra Modi on Friday congratulated Balendra Shah on assuming office as Nepal’s new prime minister.
In a message posted on X, Modi said he looks forward to working closely with Shah to strengthen India-Nepal relations. He noted that Shah’s appointment reflects the trust placed in him by the people of Nepal.
Balendra Shah, popularly known as “Balen,” was sworn in as prime minister following recent political developments in the country. His rise comes months after the government led by K P Sharma Oli was removed from power amid widespread protests.
Modi expressed hope that bilateral ties between India and Nepal will further deepen under Shah’s leadership for the mutual benefit of both nations.
