Shiroor : Arjun long with the lorry which he was driving was trapped under the Gangavally river following landslide and heavy rains on July 16 was recovered this after noon along with his body, rescue mission operators said here today.
The lorry along with the body of Arjun was lifted from the river by using a crane attached with dredger this after noon and body parts , suspected to be of the driver Arjun, was shifted to the boat, the official sources said.
The rescue mission operators had spotted four contact points to search for the lorry and the vehicle along with the body which was recovered at the second contact point.
The rescue mission operators said that the body was detected from the cabin of the lorry and it was stuck up to it.
The lorry owner Mr Manaf confirmed that the lorry recovered belonged to him and it was driven by Arjun.
Arjun’s relatives also identified that the body parts recovered from the cabin of the missed lorry were of Arjun as also Manaf.
The local MLA of the Karnataka Assembly also confirmed that the body was of Arjun.
The health department sources said that forensic and DNA tests will have to be carried out to confirm that the body recovered today was that of Arjun.
