Thiruvananthapuram: A significant decision on milk prices could be on the horizon as the Thiruvananthapuram Regional Union of MILMA (Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation) convenes today to discuss a proposed price hike. The Ernakulam Regional Union has already recommended an increase of ₹10 per litre to MILMA Chairman K.S. Mani, citing rising operational costs.
The final call on the hike will be made at the MILMA Director Board meeting on June 30, after evaluating inputs from all three regional unions. Chairman K.S. Mani had earlier signaled the likelihood of a price revision, pointing to increasing pressures in the dairy sector.
However, any price hike will require the green light from the state government. Mani assured that consumer concerns and affordability will be key factors in the final decision.
