Medical Aid for Differently-Abled Children as Part of Kottekkad Sree Ayyappa Swamy Temple Festival

Kottekkad: Medical assistance will be provided to differently-abled children as part of the Pathamudaya Mahotsavam of Kottekkad Sree Ayyappa Swamy Temple (Mammuṇṇi Thandan’s Kalari). The programme is being organised in collaboration with the SM (Shakthan Mammuṇṇi) Trust.

The event will be held on December 23, 2025, at 7.30 pm at the temple premises. During the programme, 15 differently-abled students from Kuttur Swashraya School will receive medical aid. A felicitation ceremony honouring the newly elected people’s representatives of Kolazhy Panchayat will also be conducted.

The initiative forms part of the temple’s social responsibility efforts, combining the spiritual essence of the festival with care and support for children who require special attention.

The Pathamudaya Mahotsavam will feature a series of programmes from December 23 to December 26. On December 24 evening, various cultural performances by local children will be presented. The main celebrations on December 25 (Pathamudaya Day) will include a grand procession with three elephants, along with Kalavela, Pandya Panchari Melam, Theyyam procession, and Panthalattam. The festival will conclude on December 26 with an early morning Kutti Ezhunnallippu and Annadanam (community feast).
