Mann Ki Baat: PM Modi Sounds Alarm on ‘Digital Arrest’ Scams, Showcases India’s AI Revolution

New Delhi: In a powerful address during the latest episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi cautioned citizens against the growing menace of “digital arrest” scams, urging people to stay alert and not be intimidated by cybercriminals posing as law enforcement officials.

Highlighting the alarming rise of such frauds, the Prime Minister explained how scammers use fake video calls, forged documents, and fabricated threats to extort money. PM advised citizens to remain calm, avoid panic, and immediately verify suspicious claims through official channels. Stressing the importance of digital awareness, PM said vigilance is the strongest defense in today’s tech-driven world.

At the same time, PM Modi spotlighted India’s remarkable strides in Artificial Intelligence. Referring to the recent AI Impact Summit, he noted that global leaders were highly impressed by India’s innovative AI applications — from breakthrough treatments in animal healthcare to 24×7 digital assistance for farmers. PM emphasized that such advancements are transforming agriculture, improving rural livelihoods, and positioning India as a global technology leader.

Balancing caution with confidence, the Prime Minister underscored that while technology opens new doors of opportunity, responsible and secure usage is essential. The address reflected both a warning against digital threats and a celebration of India’s growing technological prowess.
