Majority of ASHA Workers Aware Kerala Govt Supports Them: CM Pinarayi Vijayan

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that most ASHA workers in the state understand that the government is committed to their welfare. Responding to the ongoing protests by a section of ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers demanding better wages and benefits, the CM clarified that despite the small number of protestors, the government has not turned a blind eye to their concerns.

“The government respects their service and has already held six rounds of discussions with the protesting representatives,” Vijayan said. He reiterated that the administration has consistently taken steps to improve the working conditions and remuneration of ASHA workers.

He added that the state government has also been pressing the Central Government to provide a fair share of the financial support for ASHA workers, as the scheme is centrally sponsored.

The Chief Minister urged workers not to be misled by political agendas and emphasized the government’s continued dialogue-based approach to address genuine issues.
