Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar Dies in Tragic Plane Crash Near Baramati

Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar (66) was killed in a tragic plane crash on Tuesday morning when the private aircraft he was travelling in crashed during an emergency landing near Baramati. All five others who were on board the aircraft also lost their lives in the accident.

According to reports, the aircraft lost control while attempting to land and crashed into a hillside, bursting into flames. Ajit Pawar was scheduled to arrive in Baramati to attend four major public meetings later in the day.

Ajit Pawar was heading the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) after the party split from the Sharad Pawar–led Nationalist Congress Party. News of his death has sent shockwaves across Maharashtra’s political circles, triggering widespread grief and condolences.
